May Update

May flew by this year and Taylor is almost done with 4th grade! I can't believe how old she is getting, and how old I'm getting! She had a great school year and is busy planning her summer. She is still playing soccer and is planning on trying out for Hurst's Academy team in July. She is also still doing horse riding lessons twice a month. Her horse's name is Sunday and they are getting to know each other pretty well. She has a smile the whole hour she is riding her, but for me, it's the longest hour of my life. I getting pretty nervous watching! She looks so little on Sunday, but she wears her helmet and I have to let her "spread her wings" sometimes.
We all ran in a 10k run in Austin at the end of April. I was really proud of Taylor. She walked some, but she finished! How many 10 year olds have done a 6 mile run? We also did our neighborhood 5K run a few weeks ago. That was alot of fun too. Miah and I got 3rd place, in our age group! (Not many 25-32 year olds participated, but we brag anyway!)
Miah has been enjoying the warm weather by playing golf (and occasionally some yard work!).
Our summer is shaping up to be pretty busy, as usual, but I will try and keep everyone in touch!

August update

After a crazy busy summer, we're glad school has started again! Now I have time to update everyone on what has been going on with us!
Taylor spent alot of time in Lubbock this summer, more time than I liked, but she had a great time! Taylor's summer started off with basketball camp in Lubbock. She stayed with her grandparents for a week and went to Frenship's basketball camp. She really enjoys visiting Lubbock. I don't even think she misses us when she's there. She won the "best defender" award. We were all very proud!
She also did a horse back riding camp in Lubbock as well. She loved taking care of "her" horse all week.
While she was here, at home, which was wasn't much, she did a fencing camp. That's right, fencing! She and her friend, Gigi, did it together. Of course, now she wants to take fencing as a class, as well as gymnastics (after watching the Olympics)! We'll see.
After working so hard all summer, and Taylor playing so hard, we needed a vacation. Thanks to Miah's parents, that's just what we got. We all went to Cancun in July and stayed at an all inclusive resort for 5 days. It was heaven, except for the darn rain, but we still had fun. We swam with the dolphins, ate, relaxed, ate some more, and enjoyed our ocean view!
After all that vacationing, Miah decided to ride in the Hotter N Hell bike ride in Wichita Falls, again this year. 100 miles!
I'm still working at Cook Children's in Ft. Worth. I really enjoy working with kiddos all day. Its a great place!
Ok, I'm tired of typing, so more next month................

April update

Well, I can't believe its already April! I've been working for three weeks now and I really like it! I'm working at Cook Children's Hospital in Ft. Worth and I basically see the kids before they have their procedure (CT, MRI, etc.) Most of the kids have to be put to sleep for the procedure in order to get good pictures, so I see them before the anesthesiologist and make sure they are ok to be put to sleep. Cook's is a really good place to work and I love the people I work with, plus there's a Starbuck's right around the corner in the hospital, so that's a nice treat!
Taylor is still doing soccer and she's doing great. She loves playing and she's getting really good. She also took the TAKS test (reading portion) in March and found out she made 100 on it! We are very proud of her!
Miah is still working in Dallas, and is glad I'm finally getting a paycheck! His grandmother passed away about a week ago. She had been sick for a while and his grandfather had been taking care of her by himself. They used to watch Taylor for us while we went to class in Lubbock. She will most definitely be missed!
We went camping last weekend with our neighbors in Tyler. We fished and hiked. It was nice to get away for the weekend. Even though it rained, we still had a good time.
That's all for now! Stay tuned.......

March update

Taylor is now in her third season of soccer. She really enjoys it. She mainly plays forward and sometimes plays goalie. Her team is called the Rapids. She's also in choir at school and is taking piano lessons. I pretty much have to force her to practice, but she likes going to her lessons. She takes her first TAKS test on Wednesday and is really nervous about it. They put so much pressure on them to do well on these tests! I know she'll do fine, but she sure is "stressing out" about it.

Miah is turning 30 on March 8th and he's not excited about this birthday! He's now working in Dallas for Plains Capital Corporation and really enjoys it. The commute, however, is a different story! He's been doing a few rides on his rode bicycle. He did the Hotter N Hell this summer in Wichita Falls. Pretty impressive, for an old man!

I'm about to start my new job at Cooks Children's Hospital in Ft. Worth as a PA on March 17th. I'm really looking forward to starting! Its been a long road!
